Kevin Jones workout footage; Look Ma, the knee is as good as ever!

In tapes that resemble a college football prospect’s submission, ex-Lions running back Kevin Jones can be seen participating in workouts as part of his rehab from the reconstructive ACL surgery he underwent on his right knee this past January.

Per The Detroit Free Press, Nicholas J. Cotsonika writes on May 30, that Jones looks impressive in his comeback and the tapes are supposedly proof. While Jones may in fact be recovering well from the injury that ended his 2007 season prematurely, these tapes aren’t necessarily damning evidence.

Cotsonika goes on to write, “I’m not a doctor. I’m not an athletic trainer. I’m not an NFL executive, coach or scout.” Inspiring, isn’t it? From the way he talks up Jones, I’m willing to bet he isn’t a Detroit Lions fan anymore, either.

The whole article seems a little odd and it’s unclear, other than showing Jones’ progress, why the tapes were made public in the first place. As said before, Jones will have the opportunity to workout in person for all 32 NFL teams on June 28. Why was there a need, then, to employ low-quality, amateurish tapes to publicize his recovery?

From Cotsonika’s channel on Youtube, the two videos are labeled as “Kevin Jones workout 1″ and “Kevin Jones workout 3.” Strangely, “Kevin Jones workout 2″ is nowhere to be found. We can only speculate that it features Jones playing a game of hopscotch.

hopscotch may be number two, but number 4 is going to be him playing on a pogo stick.
